Former unified lightweight champion George Kambosos (20-2) returns to action on July 22 (July 23 in Australia), taking on experienced Englishman Maxi Hughes (26-5-2).

Landing in the curious location of Shawnee, Oklahoma, there’s plenty at stake for both fighters.

Hughes’ IBO world title at 135-pounds will be on the line, as will a number one contender spot with the IBF.

MORE: Kambosos explains reasons behind Maxi Hughes match-up

For Kambosos, it’s a chance to elevate himself back into the division’s elite after back-to-back losses to Devin Haney for the undisputed title.

On the other hand, Hughes, 33, will view it as perhaps his last shot at locking in a world title fight with one of boxing’s four major governing bodies.

In the co-main event, rising lightweight Keyshawn Davis will look to continue his progression and possibly line up a meeting of his own with one of the division’s top dogs in the near future.

Here’s a breakdown of the entire Kambosos vs Hughes card:

George Kambosos vs. Maxi Hughes undercard

Main card

Keyshawn Davis vs. Francesco Patera

(10 rounds, lightweight)

An Olympic silver medal winner in Tokyo, Davis (8-0) has made a flying start to his professional career.

The 24-year-old has recorded six knockout victories and, last time out against Anthony Yigit, recorded the best win of his professional career with a ninth-round TKO.

In Patera (28-3), Davis can expect another tough challenge.

The 30-year-old Belgian has never been stopped and last tasted defeat in 2017.

Undercard

Giovani Santillan vs. Erick Bone

(10 rounds, welterweight)

Can Santillan (30-0) keep his undefeated run going?

The 31-year-old Californian southpaw has been perfect so far in his career but Ecuador’s Bone (27-6) will be keen to keep his own winning run going.

Bone, 34, is on a streak of seven wins, with six coming via knockout.

Troy Isley vs. Antonio Todd

(8 rounds, middleweight)

Middleweight prospect Isley (9-0) will be hoping to make it 10 wins from 10 fights when he takes on Atlanta’s Todd (14-8).

Isley is coming off a one-sided unanimous decision win back in April while Todd is on a quick back-up, having most recently gone down on points last month.

Amron Sands vs. Hemi Ahio

(8 rounds, heavyweight)

This one is scheduled for eight rounds but don’t be surprised if we don’t need the full allotment.

In 35 combined fights, Sands (12-2) and Ahio (20-1) have gone the distance just eight times, so fans can expect fireworks when the American and New Zealander clash here.

Roney Hines vs. Michael Pirotton

(8 rounds, heavyweight)

In this clash of heavyweights, Hines (12-0-1) and Pirotton (7-0) will put their undefeated records on the line.

Cleveland southpaw Hines is coming off a draw in his last outing and will be looking to make a statement against Belgium’s Pirotton, who is chalking up his third consecutive bout on US soil.

Stephan Shaw vs. Joseph Goodall

(8 rounds, heavyweight)

Coming off the only defeat of his career, Missouri’s Shaw (18-1) will be out to get things back on track in Oklahoma.

While Kambosos is headlining the card, he won’t be the only Australian, as Goodall (9-1-1) chases the biggest victory of his career.

Jeremiah Milton vs. Willie Harvey

(8 rounds, heavyweight)

Kicking off a run of three heavyweight fights to start the card, the Tulsa-born Milton (9-0) will look to turn back another challenger in the form of Harvey (4-2-2).
