The USWNT’s quest for No. 5 continues as it prepares for the conclusion of its matches against Group E.
After drawing with the Netherlands 1-1 Wednesday night, the United States Women’s National Team will turn its attention to Portugal on Aug. 1.
Fans in the United States are going to have to break out the caffeine for this one, however. The match is scheduled for 3 a.m. EST, 2 a.m. CST, 1 a.m. MST, and midnight PST on Tuesday, Aug. 1. In other words, the 7 p.m. kickoff in Auckland, New Zealand’s time is going to mean an overnighter for USA fans.
Portugal was handed a loss by the Netherlands in its opening match, while the USWNT defeated Vietnam. Ines Pereira and Portugal will be trying to bounce back against Vietnam in the early hours of Thursday morning. At that point, Portugal will have a better idea of exactly what it’s playing for.
