Jared Anderson is considered a leading candidate for heavyweight honors. The 23-year-old continues to grow in the sport, with his competition increasing in experience over time. He now looks to add to his unbeaten record when he faces veteran Andriy Rudenko on August 26.

The fight takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and airs on ESPN+ in the U.S.

A two-time U.S. National Championships gold medalist, Anderson has won 14 of 15 fights via knockout. The power-punching phenom was tested in a last-minute affair by Charles Martin in July. Many expected an Anderson knockout, but he was taken the distance for the first time in his career and wanted a quick turnaround.

Top Rank’s Bob Arum, who has helped build Anderson up, believes the young fighter’s activity is a major plus.

“This is another great test for Jared. When you watch him fight, you are seeing a future heavyweight champion of the world,” said Arum. “Rudenko is a crafty veteran who has been in there with some top guys. The fans at Hard Rock Tulsa are in for a real treat.”

Rudenko turned pro in 2006 and had his 24-fight win streak snapped in 2014 by Lucas Browne. The 39-year-old has faced the likes of Hughie Fury, Alexander Povetkin, and Zhilei Zhang, falling short in each fight. He’s 3-1 in his last four and won his last bout in January against Bojan Cestic.

Anderson’s the betting favorite, but Rudenko is ready to cause a massive upset with a win.

“This is a tremendous opportunity, and I am coming to Tulsa to score the big upset,” Rudenko said.
