Will it be repeat or revenge when Katie Taylor and Chantelle Cameron renew hostilities at the 3Arena in Dublin for the latter’s undisputed super lightweight championship on November 25?
Cameron won a world championship in 2020 and beat Jessica McCaskill to consolidate all the titles in 2022. “Il Capo” faced Taylor in May, defeating “The Bray Bomber” via unanimous decision while inflicting her first professional loss.
The Brit landed 141 of 565 strikes (25%) compared to 111 of 284 strikes by Taylor (39.1), landing single-digit shots only once. Now the A-side in this fight compared to last time, Cameron is ready to prove her win against Taylor was no fluke.
“Last time out, I pulled off one of the best-ever away wins against the best female fighter on the planet,” said Cameron. “To go over to Ireland for her homecoming with my belts on the line and beat her was a brilliant experience, but beating her on November 25 will surpass that as I know what to expect now. Going back to Ireland to beat Katie Taylor twice in a row will show that it wasn’t just a lucky night for me and an off night for Katie.

“I said it last time – I think I’m all wrong for Katie. I’m too big, I’m too strong, and my will to win is too strong. I’m going to be there all night long. Katie picked the wrong fighter to fight.”
The undisputed lightweight champion, Taylor will compete outside the 135-pound division for the second fight in a row. She became undisputed at lightweight in 2019 with a close and controversial win over Delfine Persoon.
The Irish fighter considered a rematch with Amanda Serrano, who she outpointed in April 2022, but Taylor could not let the loss to Cameron go.
This is actually Taylor’s third time fighting for super lightweight gold, as she also beat Christina Linardatou in 2019 for the WBO title. The former pound-for-pound No. 1 is focused on getting revenge in front of family and friends.
“I’m delighted the rematch has been made, and really can’t wait for another huge night in November,” said Taylor. “I relish challenges like this, and these are the occasions I live for.”
