An unparalleled season of F1 is finally upon us and gets underway at the Bahrain International circuit, the first of 24 different races for the drivers to contest this year. Max Verstappen is once again the defending champion, having won his third consecutive title at a canter in 2023.
Beating his own record for number of races won in a single season with a mind-boggling 19 from 22 on offer, the flying Dutchman comes into the 2024 campaign as a three-time winner and the overwhelming favourite to make it four World Drivers’ Championships on the spin.
However, his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, the only other winners of races in 2023, will be looking to push Verstappen much closer than either did last season. Lewis Hamilton, meanwhile, will no doubt be determined to end his success-laden time at Mercedes with an eighth title before moving on to pastures new in 2025, where he’ll displace Sainz as the top dog in Ferrari red.
The Sporting News simply cannot wait for the new season to begin, and with more races and storylines on show than ever before, we’ve got you covered with all the details you’ll need to ensure you don’t miss a second of the action.

2024 Formula 1 season schedule
The 2024 F1 season kicks off at Sakhir’s International Circuit in Bahrain, which alongside the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix the following week, will see the drivers race on a Saturday rather than the usual Sunday date as the holy month of Ramadan begins.
Staying in the Asia-Pacific region, the next three races will take place in Australia, Japan and China, the latter hosting their first Grand Prix since 2019.
The middle portion of the season sees seven back-to-back races held in Europe, beginning with June’s Spanish Grand Prix and ending with the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, before heading east to Baku for the Azerbaijan circuit.
Following the only the second Grand Prix in Las Vegas since 1982 at the end of November, this record 24-race season concludes in the Middle East, with Qatar and Abu Dhabi hosting the final two circuits of the campaign.
