A new featherweight champion will be crowned when Otabek Kholmatov and Raymond Ford collide for the vacant WBA title at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York, on March 2.
The 12-round bout, plus undercard action, will be broadcast by ESPN+ in the U.S.
Kholmatov (12-0, 11 KOs) is an authentic knockout artist from Uzbekistan and a fearsome fighter. The WBA’s No. 1 challenger at 126 pounds positioned himself to take on Leigh Wood for the title, but the Englishman relinquished the championship and moved up in weight.

A former amateur standout, Ford (14-0-1, 7 KOs) hails from Camden, New Jersey. He’s a technically excellent boxer and the only blemish on his record was a draw with Aaron Perez in 2021. Ford is coming off a career-best triumph over former super bantamweight titleholder Jessie Magdaleno.
