Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 is ending soon, and gamers have already began to speculate what the next season may feature.

Season 1 saw the likes of Peter Griffin and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles join the popular battle royale video game. It also included a collaboration with LEGO to create a new LEGO Fortnite game mode.

Peter Griffin and Eminem skins, as well as the LEGO Fortnite mode, will remain, but there will be a new theme heading into Chapter 5 Season 2.

Here’s what to know about the upcoming Fortnite season.

Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 2 release date

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is scheduled to release immediately following the conclusion of Season 1. The game will undergo updates on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 2 a.m. as the season ends.

The updates will temporarily shut the servers down, and there’s no timetable for how long this will take. Epic Games updates Fortnite after each season.

Season 2 will begin as soon as the game finishes updating.

When does Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 1 end?

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 will end on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 2 a.m. ET. The servers are expected to shut down for updates prior to the new season.

The battle pass will also be reset for the following season, so players have until the deadline to level up and grab exclusive skins such as the Peter Griffin cosmetic.

What to expect in Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 2

Fortnite is no stranger to elaborate collaborations. Peter Griffin and LEGO were just a few in the latest season, but the franchise has also connected with Naruto and Travis Scott.

Since this is just a season update and not a chapter update, the changes shouldn’t be as monumental. Epic Games has not confirmed any additions to the game, yet, but there have been a number of hints over the past few weeks.

A pair of hands recently arose from the ground dangling Pandora’s Box, which could be shot at by players. Eventually, players opened the box, unleashing a fiery tornado.

This lined up with fan speculation dating back to December that Chapter 5 Season 2 would revolve around Greek Mythology.

Epic Games did not comment on the speculation, however, Fortnite posted an animated photo of Zeus to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday. It all, but confirms that Greek Mythology will be a part of the upcoming season.

Aside from the main Greek Mythology theme, Fortnite may be welcoming the Power Rangers as the game’s next major collaboration, according to the XboxEra podcast.

A Fortnite season lasts on average for 75 days, according to esports.net. If the Power Rangers collaboration isn’t live on the season release date, it could still come later in the season.
