We are less than a month away from the most prestigious golf tournament of the year as we head to Augusta National for the 2024 Masters.
Official invitations for the men’s first major championship of the year were sent out during the week before Christmas, quite the holiday treat, but players can still qualify by winning events.
Jon Rahm may have moved to LIV Golf but automatically qualifies for the rest of his career due to be a Masters champion after he won last year’s tournament in a tremendous final-day showdown with Brooks Koepka.
The Sporting News takes a look at who has been invited to this year’s competition along with how they qualified for the first major of the golf calendar.

There are 103 amateurs and pros, including past champions who have lifetime qualification, that have been invited to play this year.
However, the number of golfers that are expected to play is set to be between 80 and 90.

- 2. US Open Champions (Honorary, non-competing after five years)
- 3. The Open Champions (Honorary, non-competing after five years)
- 4. PGA Champions (Honorary, non-competing after five years)
- 5. Winners of The Players Championship (three years)
- 6. Current Olympic Gold Medalist (one year)
- 7. Current US Amateur Champion (7-A) (Honorary, non-competing after one year) and the runner-up (7-B) to the current US Amateur Champion
- 8. Current British Amateur Champion (Honorary, non-competing after one year)
- 9. Current Asia-Pacific Amateur Champion (one year)
- 10. Current Latin America Amateur Champion (one year)
- 11. Current US Mid-Amateur Champion (one year)
- 12. The first 12 players, including ties, in the previous year’s Masters Tournament

Is Tiger Woods playing in the Masters this year?
Woods has not yet publicly declared whether he will play in the 2024 Masters, but he is part of the 2024 player list on the tournament’s official site.

That would seem to indicate that 48-year-old is planning to participate in the event, though he could drop out depending on his health status.
How to watch Masters 2024: TV channel, live stream
The Masters Par 3 Contest will air on ESPN, and it can be streamed on Fubo and ESPN+. Rounds 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Masters will be split between CBS and ESPN, and they can also be streamed on Paramount+ and Fubo, respectively.
