Michigan star quarterback J.J. McCarthy has steadily increased his stock as the 2024 NFL Draft grows closer.
Once considered a fringe first-rounder, McCarthy has become what appears to be a sure-fire top-10 pick, with some believing he could go as high as No. 2 to the Commanders or No. 3 to the Patriots.

Dad: Jim McCarthy
J.J.’s dad, Jim, played football and baseball at Riverside-Brookfield High School in Illinois. He became a two-sport athlete at Lake Park College, where he played running back.
Jim is now the president of his own Printing Logistics Management company, “J.E. McCarthy and Associates.”

Mom: Megan McCarthy
J.J.’s mom, Megan, was a competitive figure skater.
She passed down her love for the sport to her son, as J.J. claimed hockey was “actually my first love” and said quitting the sport to focus on football was “one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make,” in an interview with The Detroit Free Press.

J.J. has one older sister, Caitlin, and one younger sister, Morgan.
