The Atlanta Falcons announced they released outside linebacker Ade Ogundeji, the fifth-round outside linebacker from Notre Dame. In three seasons, Ogundeji appeared in 32 games, starting 27. He finished his career in Atlanta with 75 total tackles (37 solo), eight tackles for loss and three sacks.

Ogundeji was not to be more than a core special teamer, maybe a rotational pass rusher. But after his injury in 2023 and his performance on the field, he was a long shot to stick on a roster that has become competitive in the front seven.

If the Falcons cannot find someone to fill that final spot on the 90-man roster, we could see Ogundeji back on the roster, battling for a place on the practice squad.
