In what has become a yearly tradition, NFL Network has once again started unveiling their list of the top 100 players in the NFL for 2024. This list is put together by the league’s network yearly, and is gathered by polling players across the league. It garners a ton of attention – and a ton of controversy – each year, and this year’s first installment has finally dropped.

In the first grouping of 20 players (100-81), the Washington Commanders are represented by long-time wide receiver Terry McLaurin. McLaurin slides into the top 100 list at #97 for his efforts last season, along with the body of work he’s managed to accomplish over the course of his career. In theory, these lists are about the previous year’s performance and a projection into the next season, but it’s inevitable that the breadth of a player’s career factors into the decision-making process at least to some degree.

His spot at 97 comes in three spots lower than his 2023 position of 94, due at least in part to somewhat of a dip in performance. With a talented young quarterback in Jayden Daniels being added to the fray, many are predicting a “bounce-back” season for the star wide receiver in 2024. Still, even in what many would consider a down year for McLaurin, he still topped 1,000 yards for the fourth straight season.

The rest of the list will be unveiled in installments over the rest of the week, stay tuned to see which other Commanders players – if any – make the list!
