Coco Gauff represents Team USA’s best chance to win a gold medal in tennis and her Summer Olympics journey begins this weekend against Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic. The day/time of the match are still TBD.

Gauff is competing in her first Olympics after contracting Covid just prior to the Tokyo Games. Gauff, 20, captured her first Grand Slam after winning last year’s US Open.

With the tennis events taking place at Roland Garros, Gauff will also benefit from playing deep into the French Open the past three years. Unfortunately, Poland’s Iga Swiatek has beat her three straight years including the 2022 women’s final.

Let’s take a look at Coco Gauff odds and predictions at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

DraftKings Sportsbook’s odds on Coca Gauff to win gold in Olympic women’s singles

Coco Gauff is the second betting favorite to win the gold medal in the Olympic women’s single competition at DraftKings. Here are odds for top contenders:

  • Iga Swiatek (POL) -200
  • Coca Gauff (USA) +650
  • Naomi Osaka (JPN) +1800
  • Jasmine Paolini (ITA) +2000
  • Barbora Krejcikova (CZE) +2200
  • Danielle Collins (USA) +2500
  • Qinwen Zheng (CHN) +2500
  • Jelena Ostapenko (LAT) +3500
  • Elina Svitolina (UKR) +4000
  • Beatriz Haddad Maia (BRA) +5000

Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Games, Czechia’s Marketa Vondrousova took home silver, and Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina captured the bronze. Svitolina is the only medalist returning to the Paris Games.

At +600, it’s worth sprinkling some coin on Gauff to win the gold. The odds at DraftKings project a two-woman race to gold, and Gauff will likely have to beat Swiatek to win gold. We’ll take a shot on that at these odds.

Bet365’s odds on Ajla Tomljanovic vs. Coco Gauff opening match in 2024 Olympics

Coco Gauff is a big favorite here at Bet365. Check out match odds:

  • Coco Gauff -2500
  • Ajla Tomljanovic +1200

At -2500 odds, Gauff has a 96.15% implied probability of beating Tomljanovic. Gauff is the second-ranked player in the world while Tomljanovic checks in at No. 123.

These two players will be meeting for the first time. The winner will face María Lourdes Carle (ARG) or Tatjana Maria (GER) in the second round.

Gauff has seven overall titles in her career, but only one at Auckland this year. She advanced to the 2024 French Open semifinals, but again lost to Swiatek.

Tomljanovic, 31, has a career record of 399-295 with no major tournament wins. Her clay court record is 125-84, which translates to a 60% winning percentage.

Expect Gauff to advance in fairly easy style in the opener. We don’t recommend betting on her at -2500, but Bet365 offers some intriguing SGPs on this match. This one caught our eye:

  • Gauff to win 2-0
  • Gauff to win first set at 6-0, 6-1, or 6-2
  • 5+ match aces

This SGP was boosted from +300 to +325, so a $100 bet will return a total payout of $425 including your winnings and bet stake back. Good luck on all of your Olympic bets!
