The stars will be out on Monday in Paris, when some of the world’s best swimmers will have an opportunity to build — or add to — a legacy.

Monday could be the brightest moment of Canadian phenom Summer McIntosh’s career, as she is the overwhelming favorite in the 400 IM. The 17-year-old phenom not only could capture gold, but she could do so in dominant fashion.

Meanwhile, two Australian stars will do battle in the women’s 200 freestyle, with Ariarne Titmus and Mollie O’Callaghan easily the top contenders. Together, they can add two medals to Australia’s early total.

Elsewhere, American standout Lilly King is looking to compete for gold in the women’s 100 breaststroke, while USA star Ryan Murphy is the slight favorite in a crowded group of contenders in the men’s 100 backstroke.

It promises to be an intense afternoon and, for some, a career-defining day in the pool as the Paris Olympics continue.

The Sporting News is tracking live results and updates from Day 3 of Olympic swimming on Monday. Follow along with the medalists below.
