The Washington Commanders have struggled on offense for years. Though they’ve brought in talented players over and over again to try and rectify the issue, the production simply hasn’t been there. This is particularly true of the wide receiver corps over the years. Despite bringing in the likes of Jahan Dotson and Dyami Brown via the NFL Draft, the Commanders passing game has still struggled over and over again.

Outside of Terry McLaurin, who has notched over 1,000 yards receiving in each of the past four seasons, the Commanders have not been able to find an offensive weapon to help facilitate their passing game. They’ve tried again this season, with the 2024 NFL Draft bringing wide receiver Luke McCaffrey and tight end Ben Sinnott. The early returns are looking good. Good enough that one NFL analyst believes the Commanders should make Brown available for trade.

Bleacher Report NFL analyst Ryan Fowler believes that the Commanders should deal the struggling wide receiver while he still has some value. Brown has been a non-factor in the Commanders offense during his three seasons in Washington, but he flashed some potential in the team’s first preseason game this year against the New York Jets.

That potential, combined with Brown still being young may entice a team to take a swing on his potential. Brown put in back-to-back great seasons at North Carolina, grabbing 106 passes for over 2,100 yards and 20 touchdowns before declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft. That production could be enough to sway some team into believing a change of scenery can unlock Brown’s potential.
