Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has already impressed his teammates. Veteran Zach Ertz paid him a huge compliment this week. But before today, no one outside the Commanders’ building had seen Daniels in action.
The Commanders had a soggy joint practice with the New York Jets, and though NBC4 Sports could not shoot video footage, it is safe to say that Jets players and coaches were impressed with the rookie Daniels.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh called Daniels “an impressive kid.. they got a good one to work with.”

Daniels is the starting quarterback in the August 10 preseason game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. Commanders fans cannot wait for the noon kickoff to see Daniels under center.
Commanders Coach Dan Quinn has not committed to naming Daniels the starting quarterback for the season. Veteran Marcus Mariota is on the roster and capable of starting the season as QB1 if for some reason Daniels is deemed unready.
