Ashton Jeanty has gotten increasingly used to ripping opposition defenses to shreds.

The Boise State star is quietly stringing together one of the greatest rushing seasons in NCAA history, putting up video-game like numbers for a Broncos squad with dreams of potentially breaching the 12-team College Football Playoff.

Jeanty added to his collection of impressive showings with a display for the ages against Utah State on Saturday night.

Here’s what you need to know about Jeanty’s wondrous day at the races against the Aggies.

Ashton Jeanty stats today vs. Utah State

Halftime score: Boise State 49, Utah State 17

Stat Total
Rushes 13
Yards 186
Rushing yards per attempt 14.3
Rushing touchdowns 3

Jeanty dazzled while striding across the Broncos’ sapphire blue lagoon, tallying 186 yards and three scores on just 13 carries in the first half of Boise State’s beatdown vs. the Aggies.

The Heisman hopeful juked beyond countless Utah State defenders, securing a handful of lengthy runs to spearhead the Broncos’ 49-point first half outburst.

He wasn’t all that involved in the pass game — Jeanty failed to corral any of Maddux Madsen’s 17 pass attempts in the opening 30 minutes. However, his rushing prowess was more than enough for Spencer Danielson’s side, which looks well on its way to capturing a fourth win.

Jeanty entered rarefied air with his showing on Saturday. With his performance, Jeanty not only surpassed the 1,000-yard plateau. He did so before reaching 100 carries, per The Athletic’s Dane Bruger.

It’s little surprise why Jeanty is considered one of college football’s best talents — and a real threat to hoist the Heisman Trophy come the end of the season.

Ashton Jeanty highlights vs. Utah State

Broncos fans didn’t have to wait long to witness Jeanty’s elegance. It was made apparent on Boise State’s first play from scrimmage when Jeanty paraded down the field after fielding Madsen’s handoff, racing 63 yards to break open the scoring for the Broncs.

The hits kept coming for Jeanty, who did the dash to start the second quarter, as well, this time from 75 yards out.

Jeanty’s third score of the day — a six-yard scamper on the outside — was the least aesthetically-pleasing of the trio. We doubt Danielson and Co. will mind too much.
