A new Summer League champion will be crowned Monday as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Houston Rockets will battle it out for the title at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
The Cavaliers and Rockets finished their qualifying games with perfect 5-0 records — the only undefeated teams in Vegas — which saw them advance to the championship game.

The first Las Vegas Summer League was played in 2004, featuring six teams. In 2004, the Celtics, Cavaliers, Nuggets, Magic, Suns and Wizards played a 13-game schedule, but no champion was crowned.
In each year since, the event has grown and since 2018, all 30 teams have participated, with the Warriors winning the first Summer League championship in 2013.

Led by championship game MVP Trendon Watford, the Blazers were able to secure their second summer league title, defeating the Knicks to capture the crown in 2022.
