With the Panthers possibly regretting their decision to draft Bryce Young and the Bears so far failing with Justin Fields, there’s been little to excite either fanbase.
That said, this game represents as good a spot as any for the Panthers to get another win. The Bears defense is 30th in the league in EPA and 31st against the pass. If Young can’t light them up, the Panthers made an even worse pick than it looks.
On the other side of the ball, the Panthers defense isn’t great, but neither is Tyson Bagent. 35th amongst QBs in EPA/play, Bagent is a disaster. Assuming the Panthers can limit the Bears through the air, Carolina shouldn’t need to score too many points to at least cover the spread as more than a field-goal underdog.
