Caitlin Clark’s ascent up the WNBA charts continues on Wednesday with a matchup against the lowly Mystics looming.

The Fever phenom has strung together a wondrous maiden campaign in the professional game, entering Wednesday’s contest with averages of 16.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 7.4 assists. She put the finishing touches on what has been a standout first half of the season over the weekend, recording her first career triple-double — and becoming the first rookie in league history to accomplish the feat in the process.

A duel with Aliyah Edwards and Washington — the W’s worst franchise this year — could prove similarly fruitful for Clark and her Indiana teammates. The Fever have been on a tear as of late, outgunning six of their past 10 opponents. One of those victories came against the Mystics, who fell victim to a Clark scoring outburst. The Indiana newcomer recorded 18 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists to vanquish Washington.
