Florida State suffered a huge loss when it lost quarterback Jordan Travis to injury, but the Seminoles are now dealing with additional issues at quarterback with backup Tate Rodemaker a gametime decision now.

If FSU can pull off the win, it will be the team’s first ACC Championship victory with the potential to make a College Football Playoff appearance since 2014.

Here’s a look into what we know about Rodemaker’s status as kickoff approaches.

When will Tate Rodemaker return from injury?

During halftime of the Big 12 championship, ESPN reported Rodemaker is “doubtful” for the ACC title game.

He suffered a head injury when he started the team’s final regular season game of 2023, which resulted in a 24-15 win over Florida.

Rodemaker took a late hit to the head in the fourth quarter after a scrambling attempt. Rodemaker left the game, then returned for the final three kneel-downs on FSU’s final possession.

FSU head coach Mike Norvell said Friday that Rodemaker had passed initial testing on the field Saturday but started to feel symptoms Sunday.

“There’s a process we have to go through and certain benchmarks that we’ll go through as we lead up to the game,” Norvell said. “Then we’ll see where he’s at. But all those guys are ready and they’re prepared.”

Who will replace Tate Rodemaker in the Florida State starting line-up?

If Rodemaker can’t make the start against the Cardinals, he will be replaced by freshman Brock Glenn, who has taken the majority of the practice reps over the week.

Glenn saw action against North Alabama to get some live experience when FSU was up by a large margin, going 2-for-3 for 35 yards and adding a rushing touchdown to his stat line.

Glenn also made an appearance against Florida after Rodemaker suffered the hit, attempting one pass that fell incomplete.
