Carlos Correa has long been the Astros’ postseason hero. He helped power Houston to its first World Series win in 2017. Only Jose Altuve and Yuli Gurriel have more playoff hits in Astros history, and Correa holds the record for the most RBI with 59.
Now, Correa will be in the opposite dugout at Minute Maid Park, hoping to lead the Twins to the ALDS upset over Houston.
This matchup is likely to feature plenty of scoring. The Twins ranked fourth in the majors in home runs, while the Astros came in at seventh, and both lineups ranked in the top 10 in OPS+.

With the bats expected to be at the center of this series, it will likely come down to which pitching staff can quiet the opposition the most. Houston’s pitching staff is led by Framber Valdez and Justin Verlander, but Cristian Javier has had a down season relative to his usual standards at a 4.56 ERA, while rookie Hunter Brown struggled after a strong start to the year, ending the campaign with a 5.09 ERA.
Minnesota’s rotation has been a major strength for the team, with Pablo Lopez, Sonny Gray, Bailey Ober and Joe Ryan making up a strong front four. The bullpen, anchored by Jhoan Duran, Griffin Jax and Emilio Pagan, won’t give opposing lineups any breaks later in the game.
