The process of the NFL Draft is a long and arduous one and our goal is to make you more informed when the annual selection meeting. For the Vikings, the discussion is going to be focused on a quarterback but there are currently seven picks on day three that the Vikings can use to make the team better.

These scouting reports are to help be a guide for you to understand what each player will be in the NFL.

Background

Jordan Morgan

  • Arizona
  • Height: 6050
  • Weight: 311 lbs
  • Fifth-year Senior
  • 3-star recruit per 247 Sports
  • Games watched: Northern Arizona 2023, USC 2023, Washington 2023, Arizona State

Strengths

  • Excels in drive blocking in the run game. Moves defenders with ease and is an aggressive finisher.
  • Anchors well. Keeps his knees bent and absorbs contact well while maintaining leverage.
  • Has really strong hands when engaged.

Weaknesses

  • Length is an issue for Morgan which likely will mean a move inside to guard. Defenders can get into his chest too easily and Morgan’s hands
  • Allows speed to beat him to the outside. Doesn’t have the consistent foot quickness and length to get out front.
  • Needs to learn how to be more aggressive with his hands.

Overview

  • Pass Protection 8.1/10
  • Punch 8.0/10
  • Balance 8.4/10
  • Power 8.4/10
  • Anchor 8.6/10
  • Physicality 8.5/10
  • Athleticism 8.8/10
  • Size/Frame 8.2/10
  • Bend/Leverage 8.4/10
  • Recovery 8.4/10
  • Grade 83.8/100 Second Round

Morgan is a good player but length issues will be an issue for him at the next level. He should play guard in the NFL and would be a great fit in San Francisco. If the Vikings could get him, that would be great. However, it’s not likely in the cards.
