The new Washington Commanders ownership group led by Josh Harris continues to clean up the messes of the preceding owner Dan Snyder.

Harris and company are planning a significant improvement on how the team will honor the late Sean Taylor appropriately.

Two years ago, Snyder unveiled a memorial that did not show Taylor’s face and had no sentimentality to it. No one liked it.  Like Snyder, it is now gone from the premises with only videos of its unveiling left to remember it. A Sean Taylor statue is planned.

Taylor was the No. 5 overall pick of the 2004 NFL Draft.  He played safety for three seasons for Washington before being killed during a robbery of his Florida home on November 27, 2007.

Taylor was only 24 years old.

Taylor’s daughter Jackie announced the plans for the new statue.
