The Lady in Black is a tricky customer.

She haunts the nightmares of even the most experienced of drivers, willing to sprinkle her wretched fairy dust along the scorched asphalt that lines her pockets.

Darlington Raceway is one of the more challenging surfaces in NASCAR. That challenge grows in stature during the playoffs, an environment where one gnarly wreck could leave you on the fringes of Cup Series glory.

It’s only the start of the postseason, but racers will be more than cognizant about the obstacles Darlington will have in store. They’ll also be privy to just how important it is to maintain composure as the field grows tighter. If you don’t, your Cup Series dreams could drift away like a leaf on an autumn day.
