On Tuesday night, the Dodgers have an opportunity to claim their eighth World Series title in franchise history.

What was projected to be a thrilling matchup between two of the most star-studded teams in MLB has been lopsided so far, as the Dodgers own a 3-0 series lead over the Yankees in the 2024 World Series. Now, the two teams will meet in Game 4, as Los Angeles aims to sweep and New York hopes to live another day.

The World Series moved to the Bronx on Monday, but even on the road, the Dodgers continued to shut down the Yankees’ lineup while using their power to put runs on the board. Freddie Freeman homered once again, his third of the World Series in as many games, and after his heroics in Game 1, the veteran first baseman looks like the favorite for the series MVP award if his squad can win one more game.

Strangely enough, neither World Series team has gotten strong production from its likely 2024 MVP winner. For the Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani went 0-for-3 in Game 3 and has just one hit in the series so far. He has been dealing with a shoulder injury lately, but it hasn’t appeared to impact his swing or playing status.

As for New York, Aaron Judge has been in the midst of one of the worst stretches of his career — and it’s been on the biggest stage. Judge is 1-for-12 with seven strikeouts in the World Series. Despite being surrounded by Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton in the Yankees’ lineup, the team hasn’t been able to overcome Judge’s struggles.

Facing elimination in Tuesday’s Game 4, the Yankees will give the right-handed Luis Gil the ball. Gil was one of the American League’s best starters throughout the 2024 season, posting a 15-7 record, 3.50 ERA and 171 strikeouts in 151.2 innings pitched.

Behind a dominant bullpen, strong performances from their starting pitchers and timely hits, the Dodgers are on the verge of a World Series title. With a win on Tuesday, Los Angeles could claim its second title in five years.

World Series live updates, results, highlights from Dodgers vs. Yankees Game 4

(All times ET)

11:23 p.m. — Will Smith lines out to center field, and that ends the game. After some struggles in their first three World Series games, the Yankees explode for 11 runs in Game 4 to force another matchup against the Dodgers. New York’s ace, Gerrit Cole, will be on the mound tomorrow in the Bronx.

11:20 p.m. — Tim Mayza is in to pitch for New York in the ninth, and he gets Kike Hernandez to ground out for the first out.

11:16 p.m. — The bottom of the eighth finally comes to an end after five Yankees runs. The Dodgers would need at least seven runs in the ninth, which would be a miracle, to avoid their first loss of the World Series.

Yankees 11, Dodgers 4

11:11 p.m. RBI SINGLE — The Yankees continue to pour on runs in the bottom of the eighth. After Soto doubled, Judge comes through with a much-needed hit into left field. Soto scores, and Judge is finally putting together strong at bats for the Yankees after some initial struggles in the World Series.

Yankees 10, Dodgers 4

11:06 p.m. THREE-RUN HOME RUN — The Yankees have broken it open. Torres hits a sharp line drive into right-center field, and it sneaks over the wall for a three-run homer. New York has gotten its best offensive production of the World Series at home in Game 4.

11:04 p.m. RBI FIELDER’S CHOICE — The Dodgers keep the infield in, and after an 11-pitch at bat, Verdugo sends a ground ball to second base. Volpe races home and reaches the plate before the tag, and the Yankees have yet another key insurance run for the ninth.

10:55 p.m. — Anthony Volpe continues his big night with a double. He had to leg it out, and the ball came free when Gavin Lux went to tag him.

10:47 p.m. — Weaver is cruising, as he strikes out two Dodgers in the top of the eighth. If they can hold on for three more outs in the ninth, the Yankees will keep their season alive.

10:40 p.m. — Stanton gets some good contact, but lines out to left field to end the seventh frame.

10:37 p.m. — Knack, who’s thrown over 40 pitches, remains in the game for Los Angeles.

10:31 p.m. — Yankee Stadium erupts as Weaver ties up Betts to end the top of the seventh. It’s time to stretch in the Bronx.

10:26 p.m. — Leiter Jr. comes through with a huge strikeout against Ohtani, who was the tying run with Edman on base. Luke Weaver will come in to face Betts.

10:16 p.m. — The sixth frame comes to an end as Soto strikes out. New York will now be looking to hold onto a two-run advantage as Mark Leiter Jr. takes over on the mound.

Yankees 6, Dodgers 4

10:13 p.m. SOLO HOME RUN — Austin Wells gives New York a huge insurance run heading into the late innings. He knew it immediately too, flipping his bat as soon as he lifted the ball deep into right field.

10:08 p.m. — Clay Holmes works a 1-2-3 top of the sixth, striking out Muncy and Kike Hernandez.

10:05 p.m. — MLB held its “Stand Up To Cancer” moment between the fifth and sixth inning:

9:59 p.m. — Volpe flies out to center field to end the fifth frame. New York will take its one-run lead into the sixth.

9:56 p.m. — Chisholm walked, but Stanton strikes out. The Yankees have two runners on with one out, looking to add insurance runs.

9:49 p.m. — After the Dodgers put up two runs in the top of the fifth, Knack is back on the mound. Judge reaches on an error to begin the bottom half of the inning.

Yankees 5, Dodgers 4

9:42 p.m. RBI FIELDER’S CHOICE — Even without another home run, Freeman comes through for the Dodgers. He nearly hit into a double play to end the inning, but after a review, the ruling is overturned as Freeman got his foot on the first base bag just in time. Edman scores, and the Dodgers are within a run.

9:41 p.m. — Ohtani singles into center field on his first pitch from Hill. Betts and Freeman are due up with two runners on for the Dodgers.

9:38 p.m. — Gil walks Tommy Edman, and that ends his Game 4 outing. With Ohtani coming up as the tying run, the Yankees will turn toward Tim Hill. Gil’s final line: three earned runs, five hits, two walks and a strikeout in four innings pitched.

Yankees 5, Dodgers 3

9:36 p.m. SOLO HOME RUN — Will Smith gets a run back for the Dodgers. Luckily for him, his 364-foot hit sneaks into the short porch area of right field.

9:32 p.m. — The Yankees go scoreless in the bottom of the fourth.

9:30 p.m. — Los Angeles now has Landon Knack on the mound. After a leadoff single for Alex Verdugo, Knack gets Torres to ground into a double play.

9:24 p.m. — Lux grounds out to end the top of the fourth. Gil has settled in nicely since allowing the home run to Freeman.

9:20 p.m. — Luis Gil now has a lead to work with on the mound. To begin the top of the fourth, he retires Teoscar Hernandez but walks Muncy.

9:18 p.m. — The third inning comes to an end, but not before the Yankees found some life. They have a long way to go in this series, but Volpe’s grand slam could be a nice boost for New York’s momentum.

Yankees 5, Dodgers 2

9:14 p.m. GRAND SLAM — Anthony Volpe comes through for New York! He sends the first pitch from Hudson into the left field seats, giving the Yankees a 5-2 lead in a massive turn of events.

9:12 p.m. — Stanton walks. The Yankees have the bases loaded with one out for Anthony Rizzo, one of their best scoring opportunities in the World Series so far.

9:07 p.m. — Chisholm singles off the right field wall to put runners on the corners for the Yankees. Stanton is at the plate now, and after initially being called for a hit by pitch, it’s ruled that he fouled the ball off.

9:04 p.m. — Daniel Hudson comes in for the Dodgers, and Soto strikes out for the first out. Judge is then hit by a pitch.

9:01 p.m. — Los Angeles goes down 1-2-3 against Gil in the top of the third.

8:57 p.m. — Ohtani pushes Aaron Judge back to the warning track in center field, but he makes the catch for the first out of the third inning.

Dodgers 2, Yankees 1

8:54 p.m. RBI GROUNDOUT —Verdugo grounds out to first, and Volpe runs home. The Dodgers will take the out, while the Yankees will take the run. However, the second inning comes to a close soon after as Torres flies out.

8:52 p.m. — The Yankees had a perfect opportunity to score, but Volpe misreads Wells’ deep hit into center field. Instead, New York has runners on second and third once again.

8:50 p.m. — Anthony Volpe walks, then steals second. New York has another scoring opportunity with Austin Wells at the plate.

8:43 p.m. — Anthony Rizzo comes through with a smooth play to end the top of the second. Tommy Edman lines a ball right to the first baseman, then he immediately throws to second base for a double play.

8:40 p.m. — Gavin Lux hits a leadoff double into right field. The Dodgers continue to put runners in scoring position, and Gil will now have a runner to manage.

8:36 p.m. — Stanton grounds out, and New York strands two runners in the bottom of the first.

8:34 p.m. — Chisholm grounds out, but both runners advance. Ben Casparius, Los Angeles’ opener in this bullpen game, is in a jam. He’ll face Giancarlo Stanton with two outs.

8:29 p.m. — Juan Soto and Aaron Judge both walk. Jazz Chisholm Jr. will come up with two runners on and one out.

8:25 p.m. — A fan just tried to rip the ball out Mookie Betts’ glove after he caught it in foul territory.

8:22 p.m. — Gil gets Kike Hernandez to pop out, and the top of the first comes to an end. In a bullpen game, the Dodgers already have an advantage, though.

8:18 p.m. — Freeman has been stamped as a postseason legend in this World Series. Should the Dodgers hold on, there’s no question about who the series’ MVP will be.

Dodgers 2, Yankees 0

8:15 p.m. TWO-RUN HOME RUN— Is Freddie Freeman real? He goes yard once again, breaking the all-time record for most consecutive World Series games with a home run. Los Angeles has a 2-0 lead and gets a huge start in its pursuit of a championship tonight.

8:14 p.m. — Mookie Betts doubles down the right field line, and the Dodgers have a runner in scoring position to begin this game.

8:12 p.m. — Ohtani pops out, and he still has just one hit in the World Series.

8:09 p.m. — Ohtani fouls away Luis Gil’s first pitch, and Game 4 is under way.

8:05 p.m. — He didn’t appear to be limited in Game 3, but Shohei Ohtani is wearing the same sling as yesterday in the dugout tonight.

8:01 p.m. — Almost time for first pitch in the Bronx. For the first time in this World Series, a team is facing elimination.

7:34 p.m. — Freddie Freeman has been on fire in this series. Meanwhile, the Yankees’ bats have been quiet through three games.

6:58 p.m. — The Yankees, meanwhile, are fighting to keep their season alive. Here’s their lineup for Game 4:

6:57 p.m. — With the Dodgers a win away from a championship, here’s how they’ll line up tonight:
